Follow These Steps For Enrollment @ HOPE Recovery Homes

  1. Download the “HOPE Recovery Homes” found below.
  2. Read & understand the rules & structure of HOPE Recovery Homes entirely.
  3. Email completed application to hopehomesok@gmail.com with applicants full name in the subject line.
  4. Schedule a phone or personal interview with our program Director.
  • Please note that we are NOT allowed to accept “sex offenders” or “violent felons” into our program. HOPE Recovery Homes will conduct a thorough background check of each applicant prior to enrollment.
  • Once we receive a completed application, if accepted, you will be enrolled on a first come first serve basis and according to bed availability.

Basic Program Rules and Guidelines

Things Permitted to Do

I.      Have a good, cooperative, and respectful attitude toward others. This includes those outside of the homes, other HOPE students, and all staff members.

II.     Obey all posted house rules.

III.    Be diligent in keeping your room and home clean.

  1.       Regularly wash bedding, and wipe down counters, sinks, toilets, showers, etc.
  2.       All clothing and personal belongings must be kept in an orderly fashion and remain within the area assigned to you.

IV.     Be diligent to be on time for scheduled appointments: daily work, church, etc. (Schedule will be provided)

V.      Attend all services and weekly HOPE meetings held at Beth Haven Baptist Church during your stay at Hope Homes unless prevented by illness. Only authorized staff may approve a leave of absence based upon sickness.

VI.     You must spend time with God daily and share what God is speaking to you about in our daily group devontional time.

VII.    Complete all assigned program materials, and at least 7 steps in the HOPE curriculum each week.

VIII.   Attend weekly personal counseling sessions and do all assigned homework.

IX.     Assist in all fundraising activities as needed. These provide for the maintenance and function of the homes and studens participation is required.

X.     Submit to random drug testing while in the program.

XI.    Women’s Clothing Requirements (outside of room):

  1.       Dresses, skirts or culottes must always be loose-fitting and long enough to cover the knee when standing or sitting. The slit must also come below the knee. Loose fitting means that you cannot see the outline of undergarments through your clothes.
  2.        Pants or skirts can be worn that fit this standard. Yoga pants, leggings, and tights must always be covered by loose fitting clothing as stated above.
  3.        Tops should be loose fitting and not show undergarments or cleavage. Shirts and blouses must be modest and cover the shoulders and the collarbone.
  4.       During Selling Work Day ladies are to wear Hope Homes T Shirt and an approved skirt
  5.       During church services or other functions, ladies are to wear skirts or dresses that come below their knees and meet clothing requirements.
  6.        During free time or on days off, loose fitting pants that do not show undergarment lines are allowed.

XII.   Men’s Clothing Requirements (outside of room):

  1.        Shirts are to be worn at all times.
  2.        All clothing should be loose fitting. (No Compression)
  3.        Shorts are to cover the knee when standing or sitting.
  4.        During Selling Work Day men are to wear either a Hope Homes T Shirt or a collared shirt and nice pants/jeans or nice shorts.
  •        No Gym shorts allowed
  •        No pants with stains or holes in them
  1.  Sunday Morning Church Services (Please do not allow the dress requirements hinder you from coming, if you do not have these things we will provide them for you)

1.       Men must wear button up dress shirt

2.       Tie

3.       Dress Pants

4.       Nice Shoes

F.       Sunday Evening / Mid-Week Service / Chapel / Special Meetings / Other Church Functions

1.       Polo or button up shirt

2.       No T-Shirts, except as an undershirt

3.       Nice Jeans are acceptable

4.       Nice Shoes

XIII. Clothing that is brought by each student will be subject to staff verification. Due to donated items to the homes, a clothing closet is available if you are not able to meet the above clothing requirements. Please do not let the lack of needed clothing prevent you from coming. We will help you with this as needed

Things Not Permitted to Do

I.      No social media activity or private cell phones are allowed during the program. A list will be approved of people you may call or have come to visit during your stay at the Hope Homes.

II.     Do not instigate or participate in any casual, non-essential conversations with the opposite sex.

III.    You may not possess or use any product that contains nicotine, alcohol, THC, or any other drug.

A.      All prescribed medication must be approved by a senior staff member before entering the program and will be dispensed as needed by approved staff.

B.      Violation of this rule can result in immediate termination from the program.

IV.     No weapons of any kind are allowed in your possession during your stay.

V.      No Instruments are allowed

VI.     Students are not to pass the physical boundaries set for them on the HOPE property.

VII.    Students are not to pass the boundaries set for them at church. There is a women’s and men’s side of the auditorium,               and neither is to pass the pulpit located directly in the center of the auditorium.

VIII.   Students must wait until completing Book 3 in Formula for Life before giving a public testimony in church

IX.    This list is subject to change at any time as needed.

CHARACTER POINTS SYSTEM

I.      Each HOPE Home resident can earn up to 100 points for completing their daily tasks and responsibilities.

II.     Completed steps in your HOPE curriculum earn 20 points each.

CHARACTER POINTS USES

I.      Character points can be used to acquire items from the Character Point store.

II.     Character points can occasionally be used during special events or outings.

CHARACTER POINTS RESPONSIBILITIES

I.      Personal areas must be kept clean and organized. Beds must be made; no trash or dirt on floors; no open food or drink containers; closets organized and picked up; fans must be turned off.

II.     Each student is responsible for their hygiene and must shower and wash hair daily.

III.    Rooms will be checked each morning.

IV.    Point loss DOUBLES for each recurring infraction

MINOR INFRACTIONS

I.      Minor Infractions are dealt with by the taking away of points

II.     Personal area not clean: Bed unmade, trash/dirt on floors, open food/drink, messy closet, fan left on, restroom not                    clean. (-10 pts per infraction)

III.    Being late for scheduled tasks or activities. (-25 pts per infraction)

IV.    Neglect or ignore to adhere to staff instructions. (-50 pt minimum – staff member decides amount for points lost)

V.     Disrespectful toward staff or other residents. (-50 pt minimum – staff member decides amount for points lost)

VI.    Using disrespectful, insulting, or foul language. (-50 pt minimum – staff member decides amount for points lost)

VII.   Being by oneself without staff approval. (-50 pts) You must be in the eyesight of a HOPE staff member during all church             services, Hope classes, and special functions. (Please note: It is your responsibility to stay in the eyesight of a staff                       member)

VIII.   Holding someone else’s baby or child without the parents’ permission. (-50 pt minimum – staff member decides amount           for points lost)

IX.     Not sitting in designated area during church services. (-25 pt minimum)

X.      Not taking care of daily personal hygiene. (-25 pt minimum)

XI.     Violating correspondence rules:

A.      Phone calls over allotted time limit. (-40 pt per minute)

B.       Unauthorized Correspondence (Staff determines severity)

This List is not exhaustive and is only intended to set a basic guideline for reasonable and responsible daily conduct. Hostility, disrespect, spite, or intentional lack of cooperation will not be tolerated and can result in extra loss of points, disciplinary action, additional time added before graduating, or immediate expulsion from the program.

Major Infractions

I.      Stealing or being an accomplice to stealing

II.     Immorality

III.    Substance Abuse (failed drug test)

IV.    Physical violence or threatening violence towards a staff member, student, or anyone outside of the homes.

V.     Enticing another student to sinful behavior.

VI.    Excessive repeated violations:

A.      Disrespectfulness to staff or other students.

B.      Unaccounted for or late to a specified time and place; not being where you are expected to be.

C.      Violations of communication with the opposite sex.

VII.   Major violations are permanent.

VIII.  Depending on the severity, a student may be dismissed after a first offence.

IX.    This list is subject to change as deemed necessary.

–      Any student that incurs 2 major infractions or loses all their character points will be expelled from the program.

–      Any student who leaves the program is not allowed to come back to the program for at least 6 months.

Things to Bring:

I.      King James Version Bible. No other Bible versions will be allowed. If you do not have a KJV Bible, we will provide you with            one.

II.     Clothing in accordance with the guidelines listed above.

III.    There is limited storage space for clothing and personal items. Each student’s belongings must remain neat and                          organized within the area assigned to them. No excessive accumulation of personal items or clothing will be allowed.

A.      No more than 5 pairs of shoes.

B.      No more than 2 large suitcases of clothing.

IV.    Personal hygiene items, towels, shower shoes, and sleepwear.

V.     Alarm clock without a radio.

VI.    Bedding: twin bed sheets, blanket, pillow, and pillowcase

VII.   Proper ID: you must bring 2 forms of identification. If you do not have 2 forms of ID, please bring your birth certificate so           that we can help you obtain proper identification while you are here.

VIII.  Supplies: 3×5 cards, pens, envelopes, stamps, notebooks, paper, journals, etc

Prohibited Items: I Corinthians 6:19

I.      Cash over $20 (no cash allowed while on blackout or restriction). Each student will be held accountable as to how much money they are spending and where it is being spent. No excessive amounts of money will be allowed.

II.     Drugs, Alcohol, Pornography, and Tobacco

III.    Radios, Audio, and Video Playing Devices

IV.    Music or movies; music and movies will be provided by HOPE Homes.

V.     Unauthorized medications: all necessary medications must be preauthorized by HOPE Homes.

VI.    Unauthorized medicinal sleeping aides must be pre-authorized by HOPE Homes.

VII.   Men – Jewelry including body piercings, earrings, and necklaces are not permitted. Wedding bands and watches are                    acceptable.

VIII.  Ladies – Jewelry may be worn in moderation. Earrings may only be worn one in each ear and can only be worn in the                  lower lobe. Jewelry is not allowed to be worn in any other piercing of the body.

IX.    Vehicles or Bicycles

Miscellaneous

I.      Approved Contacts

A.      The staff of HOPE Homes will approve all contacts for each student.

1.      Students may have hand-written communication, weekly phone calls, and visits from approved contacts.

2.      Approved contacts include immediate family and approved church members.

3.      After a student has completed their 1st book (Around q month) they will be allowed to have visitors that are                                 approved contacts come and visit them at the homes. This is to be done on Tuesdays and Saturdays only from                            11am-7pm. Every approved contact must read and agree to abide by the rules of the Hope Recovery Homes                                during these times. (No more than 3 students at a time can have visitors on a single day)

4.      After a student has completed their 4th book (Around 4 months) they will be allowed to have a day pass                                         wherethey are allowed to have an approved contact come and get them and take them out for the day. This is                             to be done on Tuesdays or Saturdays only from 11am-7pm. Every approved contact must read and agree to                                 abide by the rules of the Hope Recovery Homes during these times.

5.      If a student commits a major infraction, they will not be allowed any visitors or day passes for 30 days.
